Diesel engine power plant consists of various systems, including fuel oil system, lube oil system, cooling water system, compressed air system, combustion air & exhaust gas system, electrical control system, and conveying system, to ensure a stable and continuous power supply for the diesel genset. The power plant can be divided into HFO power plant, LFO power plant, and dual fuel oil (HFO and LFO) power plant according to the fuel it uses. On the basis of movability, it can also be divided into fixed power plant and mobile power plant which includes containerized and floating power plant. Based on the character of load, the station is divided into two kinds: base-load power plant and stand-by power plant. The plant is widely used in oil fields, ports and wharves, offshore oil drilling platforms, mining, roads and bridges, cement plants, water conservancies, oil refineries, and other projects that require power generation without a main power supply from the regional power grid. It can also be used as an emergency backup power supply for some important departments and projects. Once the power fails, it can rapidly restore power supplies. It is characterized by accessibility in stop and start, independence in power generation, adjustability, optional reliability, and stable voltage and frequency of power supply. At the same time, the diesel engine power plant has the advantages of high thermal efficiency and reliability, flexible and convenient operation, adaptability, modular design, and ease of construction and expansion.
